Description The Reece School is one of the oldest non-profit special education elementary schools in New York City. It was founded in 1948 by Ellen S. Reece and was housed for nearly 60 years in the home she owned on East 93rd Street. In 2006, after decades of continually expanding its student body, the Reece School outgrew its old home and moved into a modern, high-tech new building located at 25 East 104th Street, next to the famous Museum Mile and Central Park. We are a publicly-funded, private special education school in East Harlem. We accept students from all five boroughs that require small class sizes and clinical support to improve their academic success. We think it's important for our students to gain experience in the community to increase their social awareness and build functional skills.
